Abstract
An insect repelling composition includes a mineral oil based carrier and , as an active ingredient, an insect repelling amount of cactus extract made from the leaves and stems of the Prickly Pear Cactus. A pest repellant formulation can be prepared by combining an oil based carrier with an insect repelling amount of cactus extract and applying the repellent to the skin, hair or fur of a mammal.
